What is a Marketing Degree?

A marketing degree combines creativity with data analysis. Students will learn skills in communication, decision making, and ethical business leadership. A marketing degree will prepare students to build brand awareness, sell ideas or products online, and help to grow businesses. 

Marketing will typically be one of two paths; digital or traditional. Digital will take the form of building brand awareness social media, digital PR through email marketing, website development with a focus on UX, SEO, and other interactive forms of media that are used to market online. While traditional marketing can be anything from billboards, to event promotion, and even TV and radio ads. 

A marketing degree will cover all aspects of marketing which will allow students to pursue the career in the industry that they choose.

A marketing degree can be applied to almost any industry. 

Every business needs to have marketing in order for their story to be told. Students can use this degree in almost any industry that is calling them; whether they want to build their own business one day, promote non-profits or charities, work in fashion or music, promote digital brands (like YouTube channels and apps), or any new industries that may pop up in the next ten years.

In addition to the wide industry application, graduates can choose to focus on a variety of creative aspects in marketing. They can make graphics and illustrations for brands, write engaging content for websites, create music for advertisements, or film and photograph essential brand story-telling assets.
